Module 6

Exercise 6 - Design a Logo

Objective:

In this project, you will design a personal logo that reflects your identity, interests, or aspirations. The logo should be simple, versatile, and able to function across digital platforms, such as social media profiles, websites, or app icons. You’ll explore how to create a logo that works well in the digital age, focusing on clarity, adaptability, and minimalism—key principles in today’s branding world.

Steps:

Research & Inspiration

  • Think about personal brands or logos that resonate with you. This could be a brand you admire, a favorite artist’s logo, or even logos you see in your daily life.

  • Consider what makes those logos work—are they simple? Memorable? Versatile? Take note of colors, shapes, and how these logos appear on digital platforms.

Concept Development

  • Reflect on what makes you unique. What do you want your logo to communicate? It could reflect your personality, interests, profession, or creative style.

  • Sketch out a few ideas on paper or digitally. Think about the shapes, symbols, and colors that resonate with the identity you’re trying to convey.

  • Remember, logos in the digital age often need to be adaptable across many different platforms, so consider how your logo will look both large (on a website header) and small (as an app icon or social media profile picture).

Design Your Logo

  • Using Adobe Express or Adobe Illustrator, create your personal logo. Aim for simplicity—think clean lines, clear shapes, and a design that’s easy to recognize.

  • Experiment with different fonts, colors, and shapes, but keep in mind that your logo should be versatile enough to work in different digital contexts.

  • It can be purely typographic, it can be purely symbol based or you can combine type and symbol.

  • Focus on how your logo represents you. Whether you lean into your favorite color, a personal symbol, or a typographic treatment of your name or initials, make sure it feels authentic to who you are.
